Document Review Features

Built for Speed
The eView application is designed for large, fast-paced document reviews. Exceptional speed and performance are achieved by utilizing a server-based application operating on a Microsoft SQL 2005 platform. With such a powerful engine, eView can handle any type of litigation or second request review with performance to spare.

Robust Security
The eView application complies with strict security standards for secure logins and the management of computer systems. End user access can be restricted according to specific features, fields, documents, folders, or tags.

Easy to Use
The eView application is designed for ease-of-use. Everyone from the client administrator to the ultimate end user will enjoy the intuitive interface. With a familiar Microsoft Outlook style of appearance, users can quickly navigate options with minimal time needed to learn the application.

Workflow Solutions
The workflow process and methodology improves coordination of people, documents and technology. eView creates an audit trail of activities and access, and allows careful consideration of the roles, responsibilities, tasks and processes needed for each type of user, team, or level within a review. Clients can even customize the application to streamline the workflow process as appropriate to each team or level, and even for individual users.

Robust Reporting
For improved review management, clients can generate various, customizable reports for nearly every component of the review and production process. Clients can track progress for an entire project, for specific levels or teams, and even down to the individual reviewer. Clients can choose to receive and review custom daily reports, permission reports, detailed project reports (by client, case, or database), administrative log reports (big brother), production reports, and forecasting reports.

Client Controlled Application
The eView application allows the client to perform most functions within the system. The client can create users, assign permissions, create tag and conflict rules, generate productions and privilege logs, generate various reports, manage reviewer assignments, and define batch foldering schemes and batch sizes.

Collaboration
eView provides a shared workspace environment that can be accessed anytime, from anywhere in the world, where ever there is an Internet connection. Effective collaboration is provided with the ability to view documents simultaneously, through threaded comment discussions and a chat feature that can be locked down per user.

Batch Foldering
eView allows clients to automatically create folders based on fielded information. Clients can folder data by custodian, by date, by custodian then by date, by file extension, or by the original file path of an inbox or network stored files. The foldering schemes can be created and displayed in the reviewer assignment module to assist in administering review documents. Higher priority documents can also be placed into specific folders so that reviewer assignments will pull from these documents first.

Customizable Batch Sizes
eView permits clients to customize batch sizes for each 1st or 2nd level review team, which can facilitate larger batches for 1st level teams that tend to review documents more rapidly, while also providing smaller populations of documents for 2nd level teams that generally conduct more focused reviews.

Tag Rules
To assist with making sure documents are being coded correctly by the reviewers, eView provides the ability to error trap reviewers in real-time while they are marking documents, including making it easier to determine which teams reviewed which documents. This facilitates clearer categorization of review calls and greater consistency in marking of documents across all reviewers, thus allowing for more accurate and timely production sets.

Conflict Management
Conflict checking permits automatic generation of reports for any tagging inconsistencies. The client can also use built-in predefined conflict rules or can manually create their own conflict rules. This facilitates more consistent marking of documents across all reviewers and helps ensure more accurate and timely production sets.

Document Isolation
Clients can lock down, isolate and restrict access to specific documents, including which documents are included or excluded from review, which can be customized by 1st or 2nd level review teams. The client administrator can control the application so when users log into the system, they will only see the documents assigned for access to them.

Native/Image Review and Redaction Capabilities
eView offers a premier viewing, markup and DMU (Digital Mockup) package, providing native support for more than 450 formats including 3D CAD parts and assemblies, 2D CAD drawings, EDA PCB/IC layouts and schematics, scanned and raster documents, vector files, office documents and graphics. Users have a single point of access to documents, regardless of format. There is no need to have the native application installed on the client PC, and redactions can be applied to an image or to a rendering of the native document, eliminating the need for tiff-on-the-fly.

Keyword Highlighting
eView offers the ability to display custom color highlighting on key terms which remain highlighted throughout the review. Administrators can import a list of terms or manually apply terms and select which color should be used for each category of terms (Privilege, confidential, etc.). Persistent highlighted keywords in the full-text of a document alert the reviewer of potential privilege or confidential information and are obvious at first glance. Reviewers can perform faster privilege reviews with fewer instances of privileged documents or sensitive information inadvertently being produced.

Searching Capabilities
eView supports simple and advanced queries, such as Boolean or natural language searches, with search results also being highlighted for easy identification. Other search options include word stemming, relevance, or fuzzy, which can be defined by the user in order to narrow the search down to a specific folder or tag while also including parent/child related documents in the search results.

Message Thread Conversation Grouping
Message threading connects messages that are direct responses to a specific topic or conversation. This feature shows the entire conversation in the order of each message's occurrence, simplifying the task of understanding the nature of the conversation. Message threading informs you of all persons involved in the conversation and provides ease of review for the entire thread.

Parent/Child Association
eView quickly and easily displays the association between emails and their attachments, also known as parent and child association. You can use this feature with both email files as well as scanned paper material. This ability eliminates the need for complex searches in order to identify the attachments of emails, thus saving on the time and cost of conducting your document review project.

Duplicate Identification
eView quickly and easily displays all duplicates in the system on a document level. Clients can tag, comment, and redact the original and have all markings transfer to all duplicates, while also preventing redundant or inconsistent redactions.

Comment Section
eView enables users to share comments and questions about specific documents. Comments are stored as threaded discussions where other users can respond to provide feedback. Comments can be shared as public or private, and eView records the user who created the comment along with the date/time of when the comment was created.

Multi-Role User Profiles
eView permits individual users to serve more than one role within the same review project through an innovative profile login process, eliminating the need for each user to manage multiple passwords. With a single password, an individual user can now log in to any of one or more assigned profiles, based on pre-define role types that can also be customized by client administrators.
